It’s time to recreate the flavors you sampled on your Delhi food tour with a hands-on Indian cooking class hosted by a professional chef and his family. This half-day experience offers an authentic introduction to a traditional North Indian home kitchen. The class begins with the preparation of masala chai (Indian spiced tea), served with freshly fried pakoras. While enjoying these snacks, the chef explains the fundamentals of Indian cuisine, the importance of spices, and the structure of a typical Indian meal. You will then prepare a complete traditional Indian menu, including pulao (rice dish), dal (lentils), seasonal vegetables, eggplant curry, raita, rotis (Indian flatbreads), and stuffed paranthas. Dessert will be prepared in the form of halwa, a classic Indian sweet. For guests interested in non-vegetarian dishes, the class can also include butter chicken, chicken tikka, and mutton curry. The session ends with a relaxed meal where you enjoy all the dishes you prepared. Each participant receives a small gift hamper of essential Indian spices as a souvenir. After the cooking class, you may visit India Gate, Rajpath, and the President’s House (Rashtrapati Bhavan), a popular evening picnic area in New Delhi.
