Your first day in Delhi begins with an immersive Old Delhi food tour, designed as the perfect introduction to Indian cuisine, culture, and everyday life. Curated by India Food Tour, this culinary journey allows you to experience Delhi through its legendary food scene and historic neighborhoods. During the tour, you will taste approximately 16–18 iconic Indian dishes representing different regional cuisines. The food walk covers Old Delhi, Central Delhi, and South Delhi, with visits to up to 10 famous food joints that have been serving customers for generations. The oldest establishment dates back more than 110 years, while even the newest outlet has over 40 years of history, making this a true exploration of Delhi’s culinary heritage. You will enjoy popular delicacies such as samosas, lassi, butter chicken, kulfi, kebabs, and many other traditional dishes that define Delhi street food. The walk continues through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi, lined with historic havelis, busy markets, and shops selling spices, wedding cards, bicycles, cameras, utensils, vegetables, clothes, books, and footwear. Each lane specializes in a different trade, offering insight into Delhi’s living heritage. The tour also includes a visit to Khari Baoli, Asia’s largest spice market, where you will learn about Indian spices and their role in cooking. The day concludes with a visit to a local temple kitchen that prepares free meals for more than 10,000 people daily, highlighting India’s spirit of community and service.
